Interactive Games that your guests can play throughout the shower
These games are games that you can have out for your guests to participate in throughout your shower. We have made it easy for you and created some signs to place with each of these games! Download them as part of the Free Printables Baby Shower Games at the end of this post.
1. Late Night Diapers
Place a set of night time diapers (all different sizes because babies grow, FAST!) in a basket with a set of different color sharpies. Put a note out with directions, “Late night diaper changes just got sweeter and funnier. Share a funny, uplifting or heartwarming quote on a diaper for the parents to read when they are changing late night diapers.” This is a great way to help brighten the late night diaper changes.
2. Don’t Say “Baby”
As the guests walk in, hand each person a close pin. Anytime someone hears someone say “BABY” they get to steal that person's pin. The guest with the most pins at the end of the shower wins a prize.
3. My Water Broke
You need an ice tray and some tiny plastic babies (you can find them at Target, Walmart, or your local toy store). Fill your ice tray three quarters of the way up then place your plastic babies in the ice tray and freeze (tip: toss the babies in the dishwasher on a light rinse since they will end up in your guests drinks). Your guests will place a cube in their drink, when the ice melts and the baby is free they will shout “my water broke!”. First person to yell it, wins the prize.
4. Who’s Watching the Baby
You will need a small baby doll for each guest. When the guests enter the shower they each get a baby. When someone forgets about their baby or puts it down, it’s up for grabs! The guest with the most babies at the end of the shower wins a prize.
5. Wishes for the Baby
Put out some decorative cards, pens and a sign prompting your guests to leave a prayer, wish, or uplifting quote for the baby to read as he/she grows up. What a sweet reminder of all the loved ones that came to shower his/her parents-to-be! For some Wishes for Baby prompts download the Free Printables Baby Shower Games we created for you at the end of this post!
Interactive Group Games
These games are games that you will want to gather all your guests to participate in (without forcing anyone to participate if they don’t want too, of course).
6. Bottle Chug
Fill baby bottles up with apple juice, milk, beer, wine, whatever your guests like, the first person to chug (empty their bottle) wins!
7. Guess The Baby Food
Grab five or six jars of baby food from the grocery store. Cover the labels, so you guests can read what type of food is in the jar, then number the jars. Give each guest a numbered piece of paper and have them taste each food and write down what they think it is. The guest with the most correct answers wins. Want to make it more fun? Have guests work in pairs, blind fold them, and have them feed the baby food to each other.
8. Play-Doh Baby
You will need Play-Doh and individual cupcake liners. Lets see who the best Play-Doh maker is! Set a timer and have your guests make their best baby out of Play-Doh. The guests will vote on the baby they think is made the best. Have each guest put their name on the bottom of their cupcake liner so that when the votes are casted they can’t see who they are voting for.
9. Blind Folded Diaper Changing
You need life size baby dolls or stuffed animals, diapers and blindfolds. Have about 8-10 stations lined up with a diaper, blindfold and a baby doll on a table. Have 8-10 of your guests pick a spot, on 3-2-1… GO! They will put the blindfold on and put the diaper on the baby! The fastest guest to diaper the baby correctly, WINS!
These are games that will be more relaxed and appropriate sit down games. Your guests will need to think and act fast! Each game has a free printable with them. Get the Free Printables Baby Shower Games at the end of this post. And don’t forget to print them out ahead of time!
10. Guess Who... Mommy or Daddy
Hand each of your guests a “Mommy or Daddy” Card. Give your guests 5-10 minutes to fill out the card circling whether they think the statements apply to the Mommy or the Daddy. Read the questions aloud and have the guests raise their hand if they selected the correct answer. The guest(s) with the most correct answers wins!
11. Baby Name Race
Set a timer for 3-5 minutes, 3-2-1…GO! Your guests fill out as many names as they can beginning with each letter of the alphabet. The guest with the most names when time is up, wins!
12. Baby Scramble
List out 15-20 baby words, scramble up the letters (or use the document we created for you!), set a timer for 3-5 minutes and have your guests unscramble the words. The guest to unscramble the most words in the time frame, wins!
If you are hosting a baby shower where both men and women are invited, it's always a great idea to have lawn games so that men can participate too. Lawn games and a beverage are always a big hit for the men.
13. Cornhole With Dolls
This would be a great game for a coed shower (hey, even if it's an all lady shower, ladies love cornhole, too!). You will need small baby dolls and a corn hole set. Leave it outside and have your guests play with the baby dolls instead of bean bags.
Games are a sure shot way to liven up your baby shower. Whether you are hosting a coed shower or an all ladies shower, these games will leave your guests wanting more laughs!
